Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators
This is Tuesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the
USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Tuesday afternoon. Trading
activity was slow. Traders evened positions to watch the markets
reaction to the new Supply Demand updates from the USDA on Wednesday.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled
corn bids were mostly 5 to 7 cents lower at 3.24-3.35. Soybean bids
were mostly steady at 9.14-9.29.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids
were 6 cents lower at 3.32-3.45. Soybean bids were steady at 9.15-9.32.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 6 to 7
cents lower at 3.39-3.51. Soybean bids were mixed at 9.33-9.41. Wheat
bids were 4 to 6 cents lower at 3.76-3.92. Milo bids were 5 to 6 cents
lower at 3.15-3.68.

Receipts: 573 Last Week: 920 Year Ago: 669
Compared to last week, slaughter steers and heifers sold .50 lower.
Slaughter Holstein steers traded steady to .50 lower. Slaughter cows
traded steady to 1.50 higher. Slaughter bulls sold 1.00 lower.
Feeder cattle were mostly steady to 3.00 higher. Slaughter steers
accounted for 10 percent of the run; slaughter Holstein steers 14
percent; slaughter heifers 9 percent; slaughter cows 34 percent;
slaughter bulls 2 percent; bred cows/cow-calf pairs 6 percent; and
feeder cattle 25 percent. Steers accounted for 25 percent of the
feeder run; Holstein steers 7 percent; heifers 45 percent; and
bulls 23 percent. Feeders over 600 lbs 15 percent.
